e-UICS

Welcome to the Motorist Assurance Program’s electronic Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards (e-UICS)

Before any service is performed on a vehicle, an inspection of the appropriate system must be performed.  The results of that inspection must be explained to the customer and documented on a MAP-approved inspection form.

Utilizing the e-UICS search for a specific vehicle component.  The e-UICS will provide a list of conditions for that component and indicate what services or part replacements may be "Required" or "Suggested.”

MAP’s new e-UICS also contains additional information and functionality.  When using the e-UICS website, you can roll over each MAP Reason for Repair Code to view its definition. Click on any highlighted text to see that term’s glossary definition.  Many listed components have Spanish and/or French translations; some have Hi-Resolution Photos.  Also, look for icons that indicate More Information; and use the Contact Us link to email any questions or concerns you may have about the e-UICS.

It is MAP policy that all services being offered are performed following the MAP Standards of Service and the procedures specified in these communication standards.

Before any service is performed on a vehicle, an inspection of the appropriate system must be performed. The results of this inspection must be explained to the customer and documented on a MAP-Approved inspection form. The condition of the vehicle and its components will indicate what services/part replacements may be “Required” or “Suggested”. In addition, suggestions may be made to satisfy the requests expressed by the customer.

The e-UICS was designed to provide a means to quickly look up components listed in the MAP Uniform Inspection & Communication Standards.  When a component is “Required” or “Suggested” to be repaired or replaced, the decision to repair or replace must be made in the customer’s best interest, and at his or her choice given the options available.

There is a great deal of information provided for each component.  When utilizing the e-UICS search for a specific vehicle component, the e-UICS will provide a list of conditions for that component and indicate what services or part replacements may be "Required" or "Suggested.”

MAP’s new e-UICS also contains additional information and functionality.  Search Terms incorporate words commonly used to identify a UICS component to help the technician find the required information quickly.  Roll over each MAP Reason for Repair Code to view its definition.  Click on any highlighted text to see that term’s glossary definition.  Many listed components have Spanish and/or French translations; some have Hi-Resolution Photos.  Also, look for icons that indicate More Information; and a Contact Us link is incorporated to email MAP any questions or concerns you may have about the e-UICS
